Sunday School

At Lawrencefield we recognize that children are not only special to God but are also our future. Most families with children choose to worship at our 10:00 service. Children from infancy to middle school meet during the Liturgy of the Word and join their parents in church at the Offertory so that families may receive Communion together. Communion Instruction for children is offered as requested. Special events for children include our July 3rd Cookout and Fireworks viewing, our annual Fall picnic, and our Halloween Party. (Grown-ups are welcome too!)

Youth

A record five youth were confirmed by Bishop Klusmeyer in October 2007. Having made a mature affirmation of faith, the youth are encouraged to discern areas of ministry and service within the church. Most serve as acolytes to assist in the Sunday liturgy. Clean-up days as well as recreational opportunities are being explored.

Adults

Adult Education is offered weekly, between the 8:00 and 10:00 services on Sunday morning. Currently we are exploring the application of scripture to our daily lives, using the African Model of Reflection. In addition, Lenten study programs are offered seasonally in conjunction with the Wheeling Cluster (a local organization of Episcopal Churches.)
